About HUF Clothing

HUF started with a shop. In 2002, professional skateboarder Keith Hufnagel opened a store on Sutter Street in San Francisco that brought skateboarding, sneakers and streetwear together under one roof, and the HUF brand grew out of it. Hufnagel wasn't a fashion designer borrowing skate style, he was a skater building something for his scene. He passed away in 2020, and HUF continues to honour his legacy. This interview with Keith Hufnagel is a great insight to the brand.

The Cromer Pant

One of the cornerstone products in the range is the Cromer. Developed with pro skater Brad Cromer and based on his favourite 1990s jeans, the original signature pant has a baggy fit, fixed waist, generous taper and reinforced seams where skating takes its toll. It has since become a whole family, with corduroy and other versions, so fabrics and weights vary between them.

HUF Clothing Range at Quest

Quest's HUF collection is mainly men's and unisex clothing and caps: graphic tees, hoodies and crews, shirts, pants and denim. Expect logos, artist projects and graphics that range from playful to confrontational, in roomy everyday shapes. Look out for collabs too, like HUF × Spitfire, and the 686 × HUF snow capsule with its Double H Shell Jacket and Pant, which lives in our 686 collection.

Come in and shop the HUF range instore or online. We ship HUF NZ wide.

Does HUF Still Make Shoes?

Not its own. In 2019, HUF ended its designed skate footwear line to focus on clothing. Its sneaker connections haven't gone away though, with a HUF Dunk Low released with Nike SB.

Team and Artists

HUF's team page lists Cyrus Bennett, Brad Cromer, Mason Silva, Dick Rizzo, Erik Herrera, Salomon Cardenas, Nick Matthews, Daiki Hoshino and Finn Pope. Artist Kevin Lyons, who made graphics for the original shop, has also collaborated on collections celebrating skate spots in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
