About Union Snowboard Bindings
Union is a specialist snowboard binding company, known for durable, responsive bindings and a team of riders who put them through some of the hardest riding in the world. Quest carries Union bindings for men and women, including Union's regular two strap bindings and Step On models.
Union was started in the mid-2000s by Martino Fumagalli and George Kleckner, who had both worked in the snowboard binding industry before going out on their own. The company has roots in both Italy and Seattle, and is a sister company to CAPiTA. It built its name by focusing on one thing: making strong, well-fitting bindings, developed with feedback from its riders. Union has since expanded into boots, but bindings are still at the heart of the brand.

A Binding for Every Rider
Union's range covers everything from easy-going first bindings to stiff, powerful setups for big-mountain riding. Models like the Flite Pro and women's Rosa are a great place to start, while the STR, Strata and Force, along with the women's Juliet and Trilogy, are built for riders who want more response across the whole mountain. The Ultra is a lightweight all-rounder available in men's and women's versions, and at the top of the range, the Falcor is Travis Rice's binding, designed for hard charging and backcountry riding.
What Goes Into a Union Binding
Union tunes the flex and response of each binding through its choice of materials and construction, so different models feel quite different underfoot. The Falcor is a good example. Union combines a carbon spine with a nylon structure in its highback to balance support with freedom of movement, uses cushioned bushings between the binding and board to soak up vibration and impacts, and fits lightweight magnesium ratchets. Features vary from model to model, so check the details on each binding, or ask our team to talk you through the differences.
Union Step On
Union has partnered with Burton to make its own bindings for the Step On system, including the Atlas Step On and the women's Astra Step On. Step On lets you click in without straps, using connection points at the toe and heel, but it only works with Step On compatible boots. A regular snowboard boot won't work in a Step On binding, so if you're thinking of making the switch, factor in new boots too.
Riders and Local Talent
Union's team is one of the biggest in snowboarding, spanning street, competition and backcountry riding. It includes names like Travis Rice, Arthur Longo, Bryan Iguchi, Jamie Anderson and Gigi Rüf, and some riders have their own colourways or signature models, like the Arthur Longo edition of the Ultra and Travis Rice's Falcor.
Legendary Australian halfpipe rider Scotty James is also part of the Union team. He has won Olympic halfpipe medals at three Winter Games, with bronze in 2018 and silver in 2022 and 2026, and is a multiple halfpipe world champion. FYI, his Insta is totally worth a follow.
Fit, Compatibility and Spare Parts
Union's standard bindings come with a disc that works on both regular 2x4 and 4x4 insert patterns and Burton's Channel system, so they'll fit most snowboards. Binding size is matched to your boot size, so check Union's size chart or ask our team if you're between sizes. We also carry a range of Union spare parts, such as toe straps, ratchets, discs and mounting hardware, to keep your bindings going season after season.
Find Your Union
Not sure where to start? Browse the range above, and if you're weighing up something like the Force against the Falcor, or wondering whether Step On is right for you, the Quest team is happy to help you match a binding to your board, your boots and how you ride.
