About ThirtyTwo Snowboard Boots
Your boots are the part of your setup you feel most, every turn and every run. ThirtyTwo has been making snowboard boots since 1995, and it's built its reputation on boots that are comfortable from the first day, tough enough for a full season, and developed with some of the hardest-working riders in snowboarding.
The brand started in California with the Lo-Cut, a boot inspired by skateboarding, and that skate influence still shows in how ThirtyTwo boots look and move. Today ThirtyTwo is part of the Nidecker Group alongside Jones Snowboards, and while it has grown into outerwear and more recently boards and bindings, boots are still what it's best known for.

Lashed or TM-2?
Both are team favourites and both come in lace and BOA versions, so the real difference is how much support you want. Here's a quick comparison.
| Lashed | TM-2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Flex | Medium | Mid-stiff |
| How it feels | Supportive but forgiving, with room to move and press | More precise and responsive, with extra support at speed |
| Best for | Freestyle and all-mountain riders who want a versatile, forgiving boot | Riders who do a bit of everything, from park to steeper terrain |
| Worth knowing | A weather-blocking tongue cover helps keep snow out | Protective overlays on high-wear areas for durability |
Designed with the Team
ThirtyTwo's riders don't just wear the boots, they help shape them, and several have their own editions. Scott Stevens, one of snowboarding's most creative street and resort riders, has his own TM-2, while Pat Fava and Chris Bradshaw have pro versions of the Lashed, and Desiree Melancon has a women's Lashed. The wider team includes names like JP Walker and Chris Grenier.
There's a local connection too. Wānaka's Stefi Luxton is part of the ThirtyTwo team and has collaborated with the brand on her own boots.
Getting the Fit Right
A good boot should feel snug from the start, with your toes just touching the end when you stand up straight and pulling back slightly when you bend your knees. Your heel shouldn't lift when you lean forward. Boots pack out as the liner breaks in, so a pair that feels slightly firm in the store usually ends up feeling just right on the hill.
Closure is mostly personal preference. Traditional laces give a familiar, adjustable feel, while Double BOA models use two dials so you can tighten the lower and upper parts of the boot separately, and adjust them quickly on the chairlift. If you can, try boots on in the socks you ride in, and come and see us in-store. Our team can help you compare options side by side and find the fit that works for your feet.
