About GNU Snowboards
GNU is known for creative, sometimes irreverent snowboarding, with boards designed alongside its riders and ideas like asymmetric shapes that set it apart. Quest carries GNU boards for freestyle, all-mountain and freeride riding.
GNU traces its roots back to 1977 and Mike Olson's early snowboard projects in Washington State. Today it's the sister brand of Lib Tech, built in the same Washington factory and sharing technology like Magne-Traction, but with its own personality and a strong focus on freestyle and rider-led design.

Asymmetry and Other Tech
Asymmetric design is one of GNU's clearest differences. Your body works differently on your heelside and toeside turns, so some GNU boards use a different sidecut and shape on each edge to balance them out. Not every GNU board is asymmetric, so check the details on each model. Many GNU boards also use Magne-Traction, serrated edges that add extra contact points to help the board grip on firm and icy snow, and profiles range from rocker and camber hybrids to more camber-focused shapes for extra pop and stability.
Boards and Riders
GNU's range runs from park and freestyle boards through to freeride shapes. The Head Space is Forest Bailey's pro model, a cambered twin built for freestyle, while the Banked Country is a freeride-focused shape for riders heading beyond the groomers. The Money, Gremlin and Turbo Gremlin round out the range with options for different riding styles and flex preferences.
GNU also has a long history with women's snowboarding, including more than a decade of collaboration with Olympic champion Jamie Anderson on her Ladies Choice board, and a team that includes riders like Max Warbington, Barrett Christy and Cannon Cummins.
Picking a GNU
Browse the range above, and if you're weighing up something like the Gremlin against the Head Space, or want to know how an asymmetric board feels, the Quest team is here to help. Ask us in-store about which GNU boards are available to demo. Always a good idea to try before you buy!
