About HOWL
HOWL was started in 2012 by professional snowboarders Darrell Mathes and Nima Jalali. Their idea was simple: gloves and accessories shaped by the people who actually ride in them, with a look that fits a rider's whole setup. The brand launched with a stacked crew of riders including Jed Anderson, Desiree Melancon, Laurent-Nicolas Paquin and Jake Kuzyk.

HOWL Gloves & Mitts
Gloves and mitts are what the brand is most well know for. HOWL gloves give your fingers more freedom for straps, zips, lift passes and phones, while their mitts keep your fingers together in one insulated space which is better for riders who feel the cold. When choosing a HOWL glove or mitt, look at:
- Cuff length: shorter cuffs tuck under a jacket sleeve, longer gauntlet cuffs go over the top.
- Insulation: a thin spring glove and an insulated midwinter mitt do very different jobs.
- Liner: whether there's a liner and how it's arranged.
- Waterproof insert: whether there is one, and its rating.
The HOWL Team Mitt is their flagship mitt used by most of the pro team. It has an Oxford shell, a synthetic "vegan leather" palm, Hyperloft insulation, a lining and a 10K/10K waterproof and breathable insert. Specs change across the range, so check each listing for its insulation and waterproofing before you commit.
